Want to know how many calories you burn when you exercise? I use a Polar heart rate monitor when I workout. It is a great tool to not only track calories burned, but also see the intensity of your workout and see whether you are hitting your target heart rate and reaching your fitness goals. It is so motivating to me to be able to look at my watch and see how hard I’ve worked! I found the best price on amazon. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Polar-Ft40F-Womens-Heart-Monitor/dp/B004AH299O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1364916425&sr=8-2&keywords=Polar+heart+rate+monitor
Another great physical activity tool is the Fitbit. The Fitbit is basically a very souped up pedometer. It is a little gadget you clip on your waist that measures steps, stairs climbed, calories burned, and distance traveled. This cool little gadget also has the capability to monitor how many hours you sleep and also the quality of your sleep. All your information is wirelessly downloaded onto your own personal fitbit dashboard so that you can see your stats and how you are improving over time. It is a great little motivator for getting physical activity all throughout the day every day. The ultimate goal is at least 10,000 steps per day. If you find you aren’t anywhere close to that goal, then just build gradually and you can get there! You can check it out at www.fitbit.com
