I’ve discovered in working with clients that the battle so many of us are in with food and our forever quest of the perfect diet very often stems from a dislike of our bodies no matter their shape or size. If you struggle with feeling good in your body and would like to begin to find peace and body resilience, come join me in a small group as we meet monthly on every second Thursday of the month via Zoom.
We will read and then discuss the perspective shifting book…More Than a Body. Your Body is An Instrument, Not an Ornament, by body image researchers Drs. Lindsay and Lexi Kite. Read about the book here or listen to them talk about the book on the Body Kindness podcast here.
All the Details:
A live interactive Zoom small group starting in September. Using the book as a guide we’ll take it one chapter at a time, starting with the Introduction and Chapter 1 at our first meeting. Over six months we will go through and discuss each of the six chapters of the book.
During our time together, I will share helpful information on body image highlighting the topics covered in each chapter making plenty of time for discussions and questions. The reflection questions throughout the text will also give you prompts to think through and will be subjects for discussion.
In between our meetings I will also periodically share other resources to support you in the process of unlearning and learning on this topic of building a more positive body image.
